About Us

One of the most effective means to reach to grassroots and engage in dialogue with citizens is the network of EUROPE DIRECTs.  This is part of a network of “424 information offices in the European Union part-financed by the European Commission, with the overall objective of providing citizens with easy access to information about the EU and its activities.” (link)

There are three Europe Direct Centres which are designated to offer their services in Malta and Gozo: Europe Direct Valletta managed by Servizzi Ewropej f’ Malta – SEM; Europe Direct CORE managed by the CORE Platform; and Europe Direct Gozo, which is managed by the Gozo Business Chamber, for the period May 2021 to 2025.

Between 2018 and 2020, MEUSAC (The Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee), the Institute for European Studies at the University of Malta, and the Gozo Business Chamber were chosen by the European Commission to host EDIC Valletta, EDIC University and EDIC Gozo.

The Europe Direct network is one of the main channels of information about the EU for European citizens with the overall objective of providing citizens with easy access to information about the EU and its activities.  Its main role is in fact to provide information, assistance, and answer questions about the EU.

EUROPE DIRECTs organise events, seminars, information sessions and debates and channel citizens’ feedback to the EU institutions.

EU publications are available at the EUROPE DIRECT Gozo office for free dissemination to the public.
