The Europe Direct network of information offices (EDIC) is one of the main tools of the European Commission to engage with citizens on EU-related topics at local and regional level. There are three Europe Direct Centres which are designated to offer their services in Malta and Gozo: Europe Direct Valletta managed by Servizzi Ewropej f’ Malta – SEM; Europe Direct CORE managed by the CORE Platform; and Europe Direct Gozo, which is managed by the Gozo Business Chamber, for the period May 2021 to 2025.
On Wednesday 22 February 2023, EUROPE DIRECT Gozo welcomed a delegation of EUROPE DIRECT Ireland. On Wednesday 14 September the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, delivered her third State of the Union address. She began her speech by reminiscing the beginning of the war last February. The brutality of war was counteracted by the European countries, by showing a strong wave of solidarity.
