Celebrating Europe Day 2023 in Gozo

EUROPE DIRECT Gozo celebrated Europe Day 2023, by organising an event on 29 April 2023 at the Villa Rundle Gardens between 10.00 and 18.00, within the Spring Fair event, which was held by the Minister for Gozo and the Cultural Heritage Directorate within Ministry for Gozo.

During the event various EU information providers, including European Commission Representation in Malta, European Parliament Liaison Office, SEM, Europe Direct Valletta, EU Careers, Entitlement Unit, Ministry for Health, EU Programmes Agency, European Union Agency for Asylum and European Consumer Centre, were present at the fair, and provided useful information about the European Union and what is the remit of each and every organisation within the Union.  Various EU publications were distributed to those who attended this event.

Students for five schools , who monitored the air quality near their schools, with a kit provided by EUROPE DIRECT Gozo, presented their findings during a science fair which was held in collaboration with GLOBE Malta. The students had a very informative discussion and shared their thoughts with the public. The discussion was moderated by Ramona Mercieca from Globe Malta.

The event was addressed by the Gozo Business Chamber CEO Daniel Borg, Head of European Parliament Liaison Office in Malta Mario Sammut, European Commission Representation in Malta Mark Vella and Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.

Globe Malta and Nature Trust had their own stands and informed all those present at Villa Rundle Gardens, about their services within the community.
