On Monday 12 December 2022, EUROPE Direct Gozo in collaboration with Nature Trust – FEE Malta, Young Reporters for the Environment, Eko Skola and BOV held the Eco-schools/YRE/Leaf Award Ceremony.
The Gozo College Agius de Soldanis Middle School was the winner of this year’s edition, which will be awarded Euro 500 (sponsored by BOV) to implement sustainable projects.
Mr Vincent Attard, Executive President Nature Trust – FEE Malta, Ms Charmaine Borg, Manager Bank of Valletta Gozo Branch and Mr Martins Zemitis, Official of the European Commission Representation in Malta, also intervened during the event.
Ms Marvic Refalo, Eko Skola teacher, concluded the event by launching next year’s edition which will focus on the European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals.
We would also like to thank all the other participating schools: Gozo Collage Sir Arturo Mercieca Rabat Primary School, Gozo College Ninu Cremona Secondary School; Gozo Collage Roza Magro Xewkija Primary School; Laura Vicuna Primary Schhol, Ghasri; St Francis Primary School, Victoria; and St Theresa Primary School, Kerċem. Each participating school will be awarded Euro 100 to implement sustainable projects, sponsored by EUROPE DIRECT Gozo.
