Launch of the Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo event

This webinar introduced this year’s edition of the Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo which will be held on 15 November. This year’s theme will be waste reduction.

Participants had the opportunity to hear the experiences of youth who were involved in past editions of this contest. In fact a number of participants and winners of past events recounted their experiences and all agreed how beneficial it was for them and for their careers, actively taking part in these events.

Jesmond Buttigieg Manager EUROPE DIRECT Gozo talked about the European Union’s Youth strategy, which focuses on 3 core areas of action, that is engage, connect, and empower young people.  He retaliated that, the Youth for Entrepreneurship event is in fact all about engaging, connecting and empowering youth, to act and to show their abilities, and their skills.

Daniel Borg CEO, The Gozo Business Chamber introduced this year’s event by giving a brief introduction of this year’s event, the criteria one is expected to meet, who is eligible to apply and how one can apply to take part and pitch his business idea. In his second intervention Daniel presented this year’s theme and encouraged all those who wish to participate to present their business ideas centered on waste reduction, contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Gozo. He also listed some examples, namely creative recycling initiatives and advanced waste management technologies, amongst others.

Luke Said intervened as an expert speaker on the theme of waste reduction. The webinar was moderated by Jennifer Cauchi and Charles Micallef, Youth workers within Aġenzija Żgħażagħ.
