The second Network of Networks meeting for 2026, organised by EUROPE DIRECT Gozo, was successfully held at the historic Sentinella Hall within the Cittadella, Gozo.

The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from the Gozo Business Chamber, GLOBE, EkO-Skola, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, the Gozo Regional Development Authority, the Institute for European Studies UOM, as well as the Cultural Heritage Directorate and the EU, International Affairs and Policy Coordination Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.

A key highlight of the meeting was the participation of Ms Maria Elena Despott, Head of the European Commission Representation in Malta, who shared her commitment towards the proposed EU Island Strategy. She emphasised the importance of collaboration and supporting initiatives that strengthen opportunities for islands like Gozo.

Particular attention was given to the concept of the “right to stay”, highlighting the importance of empowering young people to build their future locally. In this context, the Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo initiative was recognised as a strong example of how collaboration can foster innovation and entrepreneurship among youth.

As part of the programme, participants also visited the EU-funded Biennale stands and the exhibition Riflessi, where they had the opportunity to meet local artist Paolo Camilleri Cauchi and discuss the inspiration behind his work.

Thanks to all participants for contributing to this meaningful exchange of ideas and continued collaboration.
